Portfolio of a Graphic Destructor

Hi everybody this is my portfolio so far. Most of these pieces are from campaigns i have worked on.  I have a few other things that I’m finishing up and will eventually add to it, but this is it for right now.  To go there just click on this link: Portfolio Book WP

Basil Gogos

Basil Gogos is an American illustrator best known for his striking portraits of movie monsters which appeared on the covers of Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine in the 1960s and 70s. He has been a big influence on my art and one of the reasons I love horror movie posters so much.

Elsewhere

I wish i was a king

And i had a wonderful castle

Where luxuriant tapestries would flow

Sweet smell of flowers when the wind blows

Often it gets so lonely here

Because i am all alone

*

I wish you were my queen

And you would stay here in my castle

And your beauty would spread across the land

From the mountains to the sands

And the people would all turn their heads

Just to get a look at you

A look at their new queen

*

You are the light in their face

You give new hope in their broken hearts

For you have made their king smile again

And drove back the darkness that was settling in

*

And you are the light in my eyes

And you are the new hope in my broken heart

And i’m not so lonely anymore

because now i’m not alone

Jae Lee

Jae Lee is a comic book artist from the 90’s who had quite a bit of influence on me and my artwork as far as style.  He is best known for his work on The Inhumans for Marvel,  Spiderman, The X-Men, and even Batman for DC Comics.  Eventually creating his own successful title Hellshock for Image Comics, which became a cult hit.  Lately he has been adapting Stephen Kings Dark Tower series of novels to graphic novel format.  Needless to say it is filled with amazing artwork.

Halloween! Mwahahahahahaha! Welcome to my world.

Well every boil and ghoul know’s what’s comin up this weekend right?  All Hallows Eve my fellow children of night! Hahahahahahahahah.  This is more religious to me than Christmas, because for a small window of time people get to see a safe glimpse of what it’s like to be in my head.  I’m supposed to go play a show in Greensboro n then after we’ll have an after party.  i think i’m gonna dress up like Otis from House of 1000 Corpses.  You know the “gravemarch” scene?  He heh.

Otis from House Of 1000 Corpses

And for all you other guys who ran out of time for things to do i’ve compiled a list of my favorite top 10 scary/Halloween movies. So here goes:

1.  The Nightmare Before Christmas (Tim Burton, Halloweentown, Jack Skellington, I mean come on, this movie has everything)

2.  House Of 1000 Corpses (of course! one of the best flicks ever.)

3.  The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (pure unflinching relentless madness, oh and cannibalism too!)

4.  Hellraiser   (Clive Barker is a brutal genius that is out to damage your  psyche and your spirituality at the same time)

5.  The Beyond  (Lucio Fulci’s ideas on the gateways to Hell)

6.  Zombie  (another of Lucio Fulcis Italian horrorfests, ever seen a zombie go one on one with a great white? Yeah.)

7. The Rocky Horror Picture Show  (do i really need to explain this one)

8.  The Night Of The Living Dead  (classic)

9.  The Exorcist  (scares the living piss out of anyone who sees it)

10.  The Shining  (the two little twin dead girls get me every time, not mention the guy with the dog face)

So there you have it kiddies, even if you don’t agree with my choices, you’ll be too psychologically damaged after seeing these to put up much of an argument.  You’ll be lucky if you’re not drooling over yourself because of your latest aneurysm.  Haha. Have a Happy Halloween fiends!

Misery

misery

follows me

everywhere i go

i can’t hide from it

nowhere to get away

because it’s in my head

and it knows

there’s nowhere left to go

*

nesting warm and sharp

settled in my brain

knows everything i do

calculates my every move

sometimes i don’t know

how i get there

like my system shut down

or i was taken over

control

is not a goal

when i’m bound to break anyway

but you’ll be by my side

my best friend

misery

*

i have to get out of here

no time to wait

nothing to look back for

i have to leave this place

swallowing all

like a blackhole

i have no time to look back

and no familiar faces to look upon

i have no time to wait

i have to get out of this place

but not to worry

you’ll always be by my side

my best friend

misery

Tinkling

my teeth

were here just a second ago

fading

now they’re gone

now i’m gone

fading

all i can hear is chimes

floating

tinkling like teeth in the wind

fading

like ashes and pens

floating

through the space inside a void

and come out the other end
